So have you seen the new Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal, and Zendaya movie yet?
Oh.. there are two of those?
Anyways, let’s get to it!

BIG Move

Walker’s Jazz Lounge has been a staple on Mosley St since they opened downtown 3 years ago. Their final shows at the current venue are tonight with Pisano/Trujillo/Shaw Featuring Sage Judd.
They aren’t going away though, you’ll be able to check out the new Chapter Walker’s @ Works at the Somewhere Works space as part of a special collab just a few blocks away.
Ballpark District

The question of if the Riverfront, specifically the west side, will ever be developed may finally be answered.
Yesterday was the groundbreaking for the Wichita Ballpark District, the $113 million mixed-use development adjacent to Equity Bank Park in the Delano neighborhood, anchored by the 160-room Wichita Tribute Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio property by Marriott.
Nonstop Flights
Fly ICT and the Wichita airport now offer (well, once March comes around) nonstop flights to 15 cities. What is the next city you’d like a direct flight to?
Food Trucks
If you think you’ve been hot during the stretch of dog days of Summer in Wichita, think of the people cooking up food at restaurants and food trucks. Please be kind to them (and go support).
STARTUP
Dead Weight

Some of my favorite content lately is my friend Jacob Clark and his fitness journey.
He just launched a new clothing brand called Dead Weight and you should go grab some.
NONPROFIT
Kansas Family Advisory Network
According to google, there are ~3860 nonprofit organizations in Wichita.
One of those is the Kansas Family Advisory Network (KFAN) is a Wichita nonprofit dedicated to strengthening families through support, education, advocacy, and compassion. They provide essentials like food, clothing, hygiene items, and household goods, along with counseling, parenting resources, and connections to community services to help families overcome challenges.

CIVIL
RFQ
The City of Wichita is seeking artists to create two permanent public art installations at O.J. Watson Park, celebrating the park's recreation and family-friendly atmosphere. The two commissions are for the Seasons Venue and the Concessions Area, each with a $45,000 budget. Applications are due August 17, 2026, and Wichita-based artists are encouraged to apply.
Recovery Center in Andover
If you’ve been on Andover Chatter, you’ve heard the complaints.
But it turns out the LifeSpring Recovery of Andover treatment center will open after all.
LOCAL
NBC World Series
Only 2 days left to catch some of the NBC World Series! Tonight is at WSU and the Championship is back downtown tomorrow at Equity Bank Park!
Water Lantern Festival

The Water Lantern Festival returns to O.J. Watson Park on Saturday, August 8, inviting attendees to decorate floating lanterns with messages of hope, love, remembrance, or personal goals before launching them together at sunset. The family-friendly event also features food trucks, music, lawn games, and a memorable lantern release, with gates opening at 6 p.m. and the launch beginning around 9 p.m.
Ticketmaster
If you’ve gone to a local concert in the last few years, you’ve probably dealt with Select-A-Seat. Well now everyone is switching to Ticketmaster. I’m unsure if this is for better or worse.
