I’m not sure about everyone else, but the last few weekends have me worn out. All the ‘fests just keep coming and they won’t stop coming.

Stay tuned for the first Shop n Grub Night Market of the year this Friday and Taco Fest the following weekend!

Plentibloom

Plentibloom Market & Cafe officially opens today.

What is that you say?

Essentially a food hall where multiple restaurants of varying genres come together to create one awesome space for food.

The owner of Jumbo’s Beef & Brew (one of my favorite burgers in Wichita), Kayson Chong, is the mastermind behind Plentibloom so you know it will be good.

You can find it inside the Ruffin Building (100 N Broadway) at Douglas and Broadway.

ICT Fit Fest

Wichita is currently ranked as one of the “fattest cities” in the US coming in at number 16, just ahead of New Orleans.

Luckily we have people like our friends Kelsey at Bungee Fit, Jake with Run 316, and the team with ICT Social Club who came up with ICT Fit Fest. Come out on Saturday, 28th and let’s make Wichita more fit.

Intrust Bank Arena

Congrats to INTRUST Bank Arena on being ranked as one of the busiest arenas in the world (#18)!

Prost

German cuisine restaurant Prost is officially moving out of Revolutsia (the cool shipping container conglomerate on Central) over to 134 St Francis across from Nortons.

They will be opening sometime in June, but you can take a peak here.

Barney’s Discount Drug is auctioning off all their goods if you’re interested.

Miss Mahjong

I am still not 100% sure what Mahjong is (yes, I know it’s a game), but I know it is a big deal nowadays.

Miss Mahjong is a locally owned business and is launching a national kids art contest where young artists design a unique mahjong tile set and the winner gets a custom full-size or travel set! With a kid friendly template download, it’s fun, creative, and family-friendly. Give it a try!

Towne West Update

Many people asked if Boulevard Theatres at Towne West would be affected by the new owners giving all but anchor tenants the boot within a matter of weeks.

As of now, they have NOT received a notice to vacate.

Join Hope in the Valley Equine Rescue in celebrating 20 years of healing on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 3 to 8 PM. Enjoy a country fair-style afternoon with equine encounters, a senior strut parade, demos, games, hayrack rides, bingo, live music, and more. Suggested donation: $20 per carload. All proceeds support the Hope herd.

Catholic Charities of Wichita (CCW) has unveiled a new 24/7 food drop-off bin, providing donors with greater flexibility to contribute non-perishable food items at their convenience. It is ocated at 2825 S. Hillside Ave - right outside Our Daily Bread Food Pantry.
