Good morning, Wichita!
Welcome to July. Halfway through the year and it’s been a great year. Let’s make it the best year yet in the second half.
Let's get to it!

Fireworks in Wichita

Who can name this movie?
As Independence Day approaches, here is a quick refresher of the rules around fireworks for Wichita:
Bottle rockets = illegal in Kansas (to buy and to shoot)
Violations for 1st time offenders of firework related laws = $1000 and / or 50 hours community service
Changes since 2023 (same laws as 2024):
It is now LEGAL to buy aerial fireworks within the Wichita city limits
Aerial fireworks are allowed to be shot within Wichita city limits from July 3rd through July 5th from 10am to midnight
Non-aerial fireworks can be shot the entire period they are purchased June 27 to July 5th from 10am to midnight

Thursday 7/3
The Summer Concert Series at Bradley Fair

Every year the finale of the Bradley Fair Summer Concert Series ends in fireworks and it is always a great time.
Come join your fellow Wichitans to listen to one of our favorites, Rudy Love & The Encore.
The concert ends around 9:30pm and fireworks (from Victory Pyratechnics) will start shortly after!
Friday 7/4
Red, White & Boom
Red, White, & BOOM! is an annual event put on by the Wichita Park & Rec department.
For the first time ever, Century II’s Kennedy Plaza will be the central hub for this free community celebration. Think similar to Riverfest with the Fireworks shooting off the top of the iconic Garvey Center twin towers! Not sure what this looks like? Check out this video.
Beginning at 6 p.m., food vendors will be available along Douglas avenue north of Century II. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs.
Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. immediately following the Wind Surge’s fireworks at Equity Bank Park (more on this below).
The show will be choreographed to music. Guests may download the Pyrocast app or scan a QR code at the event to sync their experience.
That is all completely free with food for purchase.
If you want a more exclusive experience, Century II will offer a family-friendly balcony party with a fantastic view of the fireworks. Admission will be charged and tickets will be sold directly through Century II via Select-A-Seat.
Road closures begin at 3 p.m. on July 4 and will reopen around 10:30 p.m.

Finally, the classic question - where to park (the spot on the far left might have a little parking left depending on construction):

Wind Surge Independence Day Spectacular
Celebrate Independence Day at the ballpark with mini American flags handed out at the gates (while supplies last), a special pre-game flyover, and a jersey auction benefiting the Wind Surge Foundation.
Stick around after the game for an incredible fireworks show—then stay and watch the city fireworks light up the night sky!
You can also show up early for Red, White, and Tea for a Kids’ Tea Party!
Friday 7/5
Wind Surge Christmas in July

You might be wondering why we included this event..
Well in addition to getting some nifty Christmas sweater boxers, you can also catch a post-game fireworks show at the Wind Surge Christmas in July night.
You heard that right. Two nights, two fireworks shows at Equity Bank Park!
