Together with Wichita Riverfest

📣 Two Big Announcements 📣

1️⃣ First things first...
Wichita Riverfest unveiled 2025 Riverfest Poster and Button Artwork.

Terry Twomey, a graphic artist, is this year’s winner, which was shared earlier today. This is Twomey’s 9th year entering the contest. 9th times the charm, right?

We had a chance to speak with Twomey, and he decided to go with a “vintage” design; something that took him two weeks to create (w/ NO AI if you’re wondering) and was ready to go by the time the contest was announced.

2️⃣ And secondly, as life long Wichitans, Riverfest hits close to the heart and now we’ll be taking a more active role in helping out.

This year, we will be one of the social media partners for Riverfest. In a new effort between Wichita Life, Wichita by EB and Manage to Create, we’ve created the Kansas Media Collective. It’s a group we’ve put together to help events grow and get the word out through the use of social media (if you’re interested, click the link).

Through this collective, we will be involving other local creatives and people in the community to spread the love, and shed light on the untold stories that deserve a voice.

I’m excited about many of the changes and May 30th can’t get here soon enough.

Philoxenia (Philo, “the love of” + Xenia “the stranger”) is focused on reimagining what a choral event can be: blurring the lines between audience and performer, programming music around a narrative, and creating an immersive atmosphere that welcomes the stranger in ourselves and in our neighbor.
