Making new friends as an adult can be weirdly tough. We’re making it easier.

That is why we are happy to announce:

The Wichita Life Dinner Club

Here’s how it works:

🍽️ Take a quick quiz about your personality, interests, and food preferences.

✨ Get matched with five other Wichitans who fit your style (think food preferences, budget, life stage).

📍Your table of six meets for dinner on Tuesday, November 11th at 6:30PM - the exact restaurant is revealed that morning.

🥂 After dinner, all groups are invited to a casual after-meetup to keep the conversation going.

Want to go with someone specific (signifcant other, good friend, etc.)?

Fill out the form, then forward the link to that person. At the end of the quiz, you’ll have the option to invite a friend — they’ll get an email and need to book within 12 hours so the platform can seat you together.

Downtown Delays

When the Babycakes (yes, that was the Wind Surge’s name back in New Orleans before moving to Wichita) came to Wichita, part of the deal was to develop the land along the west bank of the river.

With delay after delay and now another deadline extension from the the City Council, we shouldn’t expect it to be finished until 2028.

Correction

Last week I wrote about how Nelson Tovar is once again expanding Prime Time Barbershop. I mistyped ‘coworking’ space for barbers, nail techs, and tattoo artists.

Veterans Day Parade

The 2025 Veterans Day Parade will take place on Saturday 11/8 at 11am.

Shocker Rowing Gumbo Fundraiser

I love supporting local and also love gumbo.

If you do too, you have until tomorrow to pre-order and get $5 off per quart. Or you can just show up on 11/2 for the Frostbite Regatta and get your gumbo then! It is a fundraiser to support Shocker Rowing.

DIY Day Annual Event

On 11/1 , head down to the Wichita Public Library for DIY Day (free event showing what is possible with your hands).

Art Gallery Open

The Diver art gallery (424 Commerce St) has re-opened after 10 years.

Let’s Talk Shop

A couple of our favorite local filmmakers, Sara and Charity Harmon, made a historic documentary called "Let’s Talk Shop” and won the Fan Favorite Kansas documentary at the Tallgrass Film Festival.

Fortune 88 Run

F88 Run Club is one of the best run clubs in town and on 11/2 they’ll be parting with Wichita by EB, Scheels, and DJ Carbon to support Wichita Adaptive Sports.
