Simply Hygiene

Simply Hygiene (formerly Giving the Basics) is a local organization based on the idea that every person should have access to basic hygiene items.

You can help them make Wichita a better place in multiple ways:

  1. TONIGHT - At the Wind Surge game tonight, bring deodorant, toothbrushes, or tooth paste and early a Free Chick-Fil-A coupon for a free sandwich / entree for each full size item donated

  2. You could win Chick-Fil-A for a year when you donate at one of the east side Chick-Fil-A locations

  3. Come out tomorrow and donate at the Wichita Farrmer’s Market at 7001 W 21st St

The City of Wichita is hosting several career fairs prior to this month's District Advisory Board Meetings:

  • August 11 – DAB 4, Alford Library Branch, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

  • August 11 – DAB 6, Evergreen Library, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Gradey Dick

Gradey Dick isn’t just a former KU player and NBA rising star, he’s also a Wichitan who loves to give back.

He will kick off with the Gradey Dick Youth Basketball Camp at Wichita Hoops on 8/10.

Then the Gradey Dick Charitable Golf Tournament will take place on Monday at Crestview Country Club (following a delicious breakfast and ending with lunch and silent / live auction).

Dog Days of Summer

Summer is coming to a close, but not before College Hill Pool hosts the Dog Days of Summer Pool Party on Monday 8/11!

The privately funded train just proposed a coast-to-coast train service that can bring us back to days of choo-choo glory.

Autumn & Art is an awesome art show at Bradley Fair 9/12 - 9/14 with artists from all over the USA coming to share their work.

They also have an awesome Patron Party I highly recommend you look into.
