Together with NBC World Series

Just like that, the NBC World Series is almost here again for another historic year!

Top collegiate talent and a summer camp’s worth of fun converge on Wichita for the 91st NBC World Series, powered by Evergy.

Be a part of one of Wichita’s favorite summer traditions, and bring your whole crew out for a baseball experience like you’ve never had before.

Stay tuned for more details about Baseball ‘Round the Clock!

The Basketball Tournament (TBT)

The Basketball Tournament (TBT) kicks off next Friday 7/18 where 64 teams (similar to March Madness) will compete over a few weeks for a winner-take-all $1 million that is split among the winning team.

The Wichita Regional runs from 7/18 - 7/22 (and potentially longer, but we will get into that in a bit) at Charles Koch Arena.

As you can see, even if you can't make it (which you should try to, it is an incredible atmosphere), you can catch some of the games on Youtube TV, FS1 or FS2.

Charles Koch Arena + Wichita has become the Mecca of basketball when it comes to TBT. We hold a majority of the top attended games (see below).

pre-2024 Graphic

Now, this was prior to last year where we probably had a couple of largely attended games, but unfortunately La Familia and The Ville (Kentucky and Louisville alumni teams) blew out the record of 13,506 at Freedom Hall in Louisville.

The Roundhouse doesn’t hold that many people, but we can still put up some big numbers and pack the house!

While our Aftershocks haven't quite won it all yet, they are the only squad to win a regional championship each of the years 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Last year, we fell in the second round to Team Colorado (Colorado Alumni), but we are looking to bounce back this year.

What to Expect

Many of the teams are alums of a specific school (with a few others) which makes it really fun for existing fan bases.

In past years, WSU, KU and KSU have each mostly played at Koch Arena, but with KC now hosting a regional in 2025, KU and KSU will play in that regional rather than Wichita.

That being said, you can still watch Purple Reign (KSU) and JHX Hoops (KU).

You can see the absolutely STACKED teams from the Sunflower state here:

AfterShocks (WSU Alumni)

Zach Bush is back with his squad ready to roll. Expect to see fan favorites like Conner Frankamp lighting it up.

The AfterShocks are back and ready to put last year’s round 2 loss to bed. This group of Wichita State alum along with their LOUD crowd have become a staple of TBT each summer. T With the core coming back and another regional in Wichita, will this be the summer the AfterShocks get over the hump and bring the TBT trophy back to Koch Arena?

This year also brings in a good mix of non-WSU players that will keep it interesting and grow the AfterShocks family.

Welcome back legends like Connor, Markis McDuffie, Trey Wade and Rashard Kelly.

What Happens Next

So, what happens after the Wichita Regional?

Well, if the AfterShocks can take care of business against No Excuses then they will take on the winner of Challenge ALS and Austin’s Own (Texas Alumni) on July 20th.

Thanks to TBT’s Home Court Advantage, if the AfterShocks keeps winning, we will have a shot to continue to host games at Koch Arena all the way through the $1 Million Championship on August 3rd! But this only goes into effect once we hit 4000 tickets sold! As of right now, only Louisville and Lexington have hit that mark but 6 more home court advantage spots are still up for grabs.

One of the best parts of the TBT? The Elam Ending.

Every game ends on a made basket instead of trying to run out the clock. It's pure magic.

Don’t take my word for it, let’s hear it from Head Coach Zach Bush:

We are ecstatic to be hosting a regional in TBT in Wichita for a 5th consecutive year & 6th time overall. It’s a testament to how great of fans we have in Wichita.

The team we have put together might be the most talented we have ever had & we now have a chance to host deeper into the tournament than ever before with the new home court advantage structure which is based on how fast we can sell 4k tickets.

There’s nothing like TBT & it’s truly the highlight of my summer each year getting to be back with teammates & in front of the fans. Hope to see a great showing back at Koch here next Friday!
