I was yesterday years old when I learned that the 2026 Winter Olympics start on February 6th, 2 days before the Super Bowl. That is going to be one heckuva weekend.

Kansas State Fair

For many people, the State Fair is the pinnacle of what it means to live in the midwest.

My first time was in 3rd grade on a field trip and I volunteered for a motorcycle to jump over me.

In high school, I met Selena Gomez at a Taco Tico following her concert. (story for another day)

The Kansas State Fair kicks off today through the 14th (9/5 - 9/14) with all the eats, tunes, and fun you can imagine.

Some highlights include Sam Barber (tonight), Josh Turner (9/7), Ludacis (9/12), The Fray (9/13) and so much more.

Together with the Wichita Wind Surge

The home season for the Wind Surge might be almost over, but don’t cry - Equity Bank Park will still be rocking.

Tyler Hubbard is coming to town on September 14th and I can’t think of a place you’d rather be than at the home of the Wind Surge.

Wichita Children’s Theater and Dance Center (WCTDC)

The Wichita Children’s Theater and Dance Center is bringing back its beloved Fine Arts Preschool, Storybook Academy, a creative program where kids ages 3–5 learn through theater, dance, art, and play. Enrollment is now open for fall classes on Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings!

Summer storms are fun to watch, but aren’t always fun to parks. Four Wichita parks will be repaired after the Great Floods of Summer 2025: Sleepy Hollow,

West Meadows, East Cessna, and Fabrice parks.

Casey Ratzlaff at the U.S. Open

Wichita native and top-ranked wheelchair tennis player Casey Ratzlaff is competing on one of the sport’s biggest stages at the 2025 U.S. Open. A former WSU student and now assistant coach at Dartmouth, Ratzlaff has also represented Team USA at the Paralympics and Wimbledon and continues to mentor young adaptive athletes. Good luck Casey!
