The World Cup has ended. Congrats to any Spain fans out there!

Now onto the real football, only 56 days until Chiefs football regular season kicks off (and 26 days until preseason). I can’t wait to watch Mr. Swift catch some footballs.

The AfterShocks return to Charles Koch Arena tonight to kick off the 2026 TBT in style.

Last summer, the WSU Alumni team won $1 million and took home the crown.

This year the format has changes - now it is 14 teams going for a chance to win $2 million.

Tonight, after hanging the banner for the Championship last year, the AfterShocks will take on The Enchantment (New Mexico Alumni team) in a best of 3 matchup. The game tonight is at 8pm, Thursday at 8pm with a Friday 8pm game, if necessary.

Life is just better when the Wind Surge are home.

Second Light Donation

Second Light is a resource hub and homeless shelter in Wichita. They just received a $100,000 donation ($50,000 from Credit Union of America with a $50,000 match dollar for dollar from the United Way $1 million challenge grant).

Proposed Budget

IDK about you, but I’ve never been great at budgeting.

The proposed budget for the City of Wichita for 2027 is topping $800 million with last year’s budget sitting around $776 million.

NBC World Series

One of the great Wichita traditions is the National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series that has been going for a loooong time.

Opening Day is this Thursday and will kick off 35 games over the course of 10 days. Get your tickets today! We will be at Opening Day if you’d like to join us, check this out.

What the Healthy

Wichita is on its way to being a healthier place.

What the Healthy is coming back next Saturday from 8am to 11am at Naftzger Park. It includes a community run, stretch, workout, cooldown, hanging out, and so much fun. You don’t want to miss this.

John Legend

The Orpheum is one of the most historic venues in Wichita and is set for a grand reopening after a year of much needed renovations.

Do you kick off a big reopening like this with someone small?

There was a bit of an uproar over the weekend as a “teen Takeover” was planned for Towne East Mall. This worried many people, including WPD, because of what that many teens in one place could mean. Cure Violence ICT put a stop to it.

Did you know there is a club that was founded in 1914 and is still going strong?

It is called the Thursday Afternoon Music Club. They meet the 2nd Thursday of September, October, November plus 4 other months of the year.
