Riverfest Poster Reveal

Today marks the countdown (175 days if you’re wondering) until Wichita Riverfest with the unveiling of the 2026 Riverfest Poster and Button winner.

Congratulations to Dustin Youngman who was announced as this years winner at the artwork reveal event at Emprise Bank, which hosted and sponsored the event.

Youngman (on his third attempt entering the contest) is a local graphic designer from Wichita who also graduated from Wichita State. His design started with his desire to draw a buffalo, and all the dominoes fell from there. This was a born-and-raised Wichitan depicting Wichita inspired by Wichita.

If you want some more of the story, check out a picture of his beautiful family with his wife Ellen and son Calvin.

We would also like to announce that the Kansas Media Collective will be bringing you all the Riverfest social media content you could want. Myself, Wichita byEB and Manage to Create will be telling your stories and highlighting our favorite local festival.

Mark it down, folks! May 29 through June 6.

The setup: Take our quiz. We'll match you with five people using some of our special sauce to make it the best and most interesting dinner possible.

The fun: Your restaurant stays under wraps until that morning. Halfway through dinner, we'll text the whole crew a spot nearby to keep vibes going: drinks, laughs, and more.

New Treatment

A new, minimally invasive treatment for high blood pressure — renal denervation (RDN) — is now more accessible thanks to new Medicare coverage, a milestone that could impact thousands of Kansans. Armella, a 72-year-old rancher north of Wichita, went from debilitating high blood pressure and five medications to a healthy range and just one med after RDN. (I am not a doctor, but this was a cool reader-submitted story.)

Desirable Metro

Wichita is on the list of desirable metros with homes under $300k.
