TOGETHER WITH
Good morning, Wichita!
Today is Martin Luther King Jr day which is a federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday of January every year. I hope everyone has a chance to reflect on the dream of MLKJ and dream of what that can and does look like in Wichita.
Let’s get to it!

Chicken n Pickle

If you happen to have $8 million laying around, you could own the land, venue and courts that Chicken N Pickle operates as the New Jersey based investor is selling the property.
Largest Law Firms
Here are the 69 largest law firms in Wichita.
TBH, I didn’t know there were that many.

Wichita State Classes

Chimp

Shoutout to Dr. Zach Hanson and Dr. Chad Corrigan and the Advanced Orthopedic Associates who team partnered with the care team at Sedgwick County Zoo to support chimpanzee care.
Two-year-old Alizeti was injured during a scuffle with the troop’s alpha male Moshi.
Drive Your Future Career Fair
Head to the Walser Auto Campus (caddy corner to Chicken N Pickle at Greenwich and 13th) for the Drive Your Future Career Fair this weekend.
You can learn about auto careers, explore the campus, and maybe even interview.
Derby
Derby is a hot spot. They get a ton of restaurants and seem to be growing like crazy.
That includes their local parks like an expansion of Decarsky Park and an update to High Park.
They also have the Chocolate Bazaar coming up at the Hubbard Arts Center on 2/7.
Trap 48
Bray Films is a local movie production company who is crushing it.
Their most recent film, Trap 48, is now available on Amazon Prime.
Dead Man’s Wire
Speaking of local’s making it big in film, I was recently introduced to Austin Kolodney (from Wichita) who is the screenwriter for Dead Man’s Wire, a film about the true story of Tony Kiritsis, a man who took the president of the Meridian Mortgage Company hostage in 1977.
The cast is stacked with Dacre Montgomery (Billy from Stranger Things), Bill Skarsgard (Pennywise in the recent IT movies), and Al Pacino (no intro needed).
It is now screening at Regal East Warren and Northrock AMC if you’re interested!
Cargo Plane

If you’ve never heard of an Antonov An-124, you are not along, I hadn’t either.
But a few days ago, one of those planes landed at ICT airport. The airport is 7 stories tall, 227 feet long and has a 240 feet wide windspan.
