🌾 New East Side Market

Have you signed up for the dinner club yet?

TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Wichita!

Coming up this Saturday, February 28th, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune will appear to align in the sky.

I am pretty sure the last time I saw this happen, Haden released the Titans to wreak havoc and Hercules had to save the day.

Let’s get to it!

- Landon

p.s. Happy (early) birthday to my old man!

Together with Wichita State University

I graduated from Wichita State University about a decade ago… and wow, has it changed.

The Braeburn Golf Course is now Braeburn Square (with several awesome restaurants, even a Pizza Shuttle?!).
The Innovation Campus didn’t exist.
And there are two Starbucks now.

This isn’t your dad’s Wichita State. Honestly, it’s not even my Wichita State (although I am pretty jealous). This is the new and improved WSU.

So if you’re a high school senior, or know one, don’t miss the 2026–27 Freshman Scholarship deadline on March 1. There’s plenty to go around.

The Lark

A 36-unit multifamily project called The Lark built by Hutton Development is opening in Delano.

Making new friends as an adult can be weirdly tough. So… we’re making it easier.

Here’s how it works:

🍽️ Take a quick quiz about your personality, interests, and food preferences.

✨ Get matched with five other Wichitans who fit your vibe (food preferences, budget, life stage, etc.).

📍 Your table of six meets for dinner on Tuesday, March 3rd at 6:30 PM — the exact restaurant is revealed that morning.

🥂 After dinner, all groups are invited to a casual after-meetup to keep the conversation going.

If you’ve been wanting to meet new people in town, this might be the easiest (and most fun) way to do it.

Spots are almost full — I’d grab yours today.

LOCAL

New Market

We love the west side Kansas Grown Farmers Market.

Now, Kansas Grown is giving east-siders something to be excited about. Coming this spring, a market is coming the Heritage development (across Kellogg from Dillons and the YMCA).

Rhea Lana’s of Wichita

Discover unbeatable deals at Rhea Lana’s Wichita Children’s Consignment Sale, February 22–27 at Century II Exhibition Hall. You could seriously outfit all of your kids from this one sale. Trust me. We have 3 kids and I highly recommend you check it out.

The Hitman

Prayers for the family of Greg “The Hitman” Williams, former radio DJ on Power 93.5 and KEYN, who has passed away from cancer. You can contribute to his gofundme here.

Butler 🤝 Friends

Butler Community College and Friends University have partnered to create a new scholarship for advanced Spanish students, recognizing academic achievement and language proficiency. The Friends-funded scholarship is available to Butler students who earn the Certificate of Proficiency and demonstrate readiness for higher-level coursework. The first recipient, Gianna Van Zelfden, also earned the Global Seal of Biliteracy after completing intermediate Spanish at Butler.

Wichita State Engineering

If my many typos haven’t given it away, I didn’t major in English… I was a mechanical engineering guy.

I am proud that Wichita State’s School of Engineering was ranked first in aerospace research and ninth overall by the National Science Foundation.

Speed Painting

KSHB 41 Kansas City

We love when our friends get highlights in local media, traditional media, or anywhere really.

Check out this story about our friend Annika who is one of the most talented artists we know.

Zoo Updates

Our friends at the Sedgwick County Zoo had to say goodbye to Grom the 17-year-old Amur Tiger due to a musculoskeletal condition. Amur tigers typically live 10-15 years in the wild and up to 20-25 years under human care.

On a lighter note, SCZ continues to push the limit and expand an already extremely impressive operation. They are looking to create “the Savanna” which would house the giraffes, rhinos, and other African animals. This would allow them to expand their family of giraffes.

Death by Chocolate

Death by Chocolate is coming up on March 7th and is one of our favorite events of the year. Don’t miss this fundraiser and party at Exploration Place.

Festive ICT

Our friends at Festive ICT also can’t stop expanding.

Their newest event, Tequila After Dark, is coming up on March 13th at The Sweet Spot. They sure do know how to throw a party.

Wichita Polo

Our Wichita-themed polos flew off the shelf around Christmas time and we only have mediums as of now.

That being said, we are going to put in another order, but we want to know who is interested and what size you need.

If you would like a polo just in time for golf season to kick off, please fill out this (non-binding) interest form.
