TOGETHER WITH
Good morning, Wichita. This is The Wichita Life Update, the local newsletter that's as satisfying as finding the closest parking spot to the door at Dillons.
Let’s get to it!

Kansas Media Collective (aka KMC = Wichita Life + Wichita by EB + Manage to Create) is BACK this year to bring the best of Riverfest to Wichita!
We want to go even bigger and work with more people in the community - influencers, bloggers, or general Riverfest fans to help promote and make Wichita Riverfest a big win for the city.
Through our KMC endeavor, we hope to leverage a very powerful form of media by the way of Social Media.

Together with the Wichita Wind Surge
Do you smell that?
That’s the fresh smell of Opening Day at Equity Bank Park for our hometown Wind Surge!
It might also be the $3.50 popcorn or $4 hot dogs, but I am not going to complain about that one.
Get your tickets for opening weekend today!

Biggest WBJ Stories
Congrats to the Wichita Business Journal on 40 years!
Here are 40 of the biggest storylines they’ve covered.
Andover Chamber
The Andover Area Chamber of Commerce is booming.

Together with The Podcast Room
Have you always wanted to start a podcast, but don’t know where to start?
Let’s stop you right there.
Call Troy at The Podcast Room and let the Trussell Media Studios team take care of you.
All you have to do is show up and chat. What better time than the new year to start a new habit?

CIVIL
Second Light
If you’re curious why the Second Light homeless shelter is reducing the bed count from 170 to 130, you can read the full story here.
If you want the TL/DR (too long, didn’t read), the money is running low.
LOCAL
Breaking Barriers with Ballet Wichita

If you’re looking for something a little different (and a little more meaningful) to do this weekend, Breaking Barriers from Ballet Wichita is worth a spot on your calendar.
Happening April 3–4 at the B-29 Doc Hangar, this contemporary ballet blends movement with Wichita’s history—featuring original works inspired by the Dockum Drug Store Sit-In and the influential women who helped shape our city.
It’s not just a performance either (thanks to partnerships with local museums), you’ll get context and storytelling as you walk in, making the whole experience feel more immersive than your typical night at the ballet.
Gen Z
Lucky for those young whipper snappers, Wichita is a top 10 U.S. City for Gen Z homeowners (#6 actually) with 25% of Gen Z’ers owning a home.
This is based on the average home value between $195 - 215k.
WBIT
If you didn’t know, Wichita is hosting the WBIT (Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament) semifinals and finals today (3/30) and 4/1.
There is even an Andover native (Andover Central to be specific) native playing for KU! Good luck Brittney Harshaw!
ICT YA Hangouts
While we’re talking Gen Z, our young friends’ happiness is declining. =/
Luckily, Ford Williams started ICT YA Hangouts organizing get togethers and events for young adults (the YA part).
Tulipfest
This is one of the best events at Botanica.
Shelter Slumber Pawty
If you follow foodies in Wichita, you have heard of The Kansas Gastronomist.
If you feel inclined, help him out.
Best Coffee and Walk Spots
Burger Battle
Mark your calendars for the KETCH Burger Battle 2026 at Andover Central Park on June 13th!
GoCreate
GoCreate on WSU Campus just hosted the Make48 regional competition for the 10th season (4th time in Wichita).
Do’s and Brews
As a girl dad myself (x2), my calendar is officially marked for April 21st.
EB is hosting a Do’s and Brews for GirlDads to learn how to do hair for our daughters (while having a drink or two and some food).
Spots are short, you need to be subbed to his newsletter to sign up.
ICT EXTRA
Gun Buyback
There is a gun buyback today if you are looking to sell any of your firearms.
Meteor Shower
On April 1st, the full moon (pink moon in April) will peak at 9:12pm.
The Lyrid Meteor Shower will also be visible between April 14 -30 and peak April 21 - 22.

Ready for the next dinner club? The April date is already live and you can sign up now!
