Is Wichita livable?

We did it! We “lost” the title of the worst city for allergies in the USA!

Now we are only 6th worst, but you couldn’t convince me and Candace that we aren’t still #1.

While we’re talking rankings, we also ranked 49 of 149 US metros (just behind Omaha) for livability, according to RentCafe. It includes stats like our cost of living sitting 11% lower than the national average.

Ballet Wichita

Congrats to the new CEO and Executive Director of Ballet Wichita, Sandra Shih Parks.

Unlike Timothee Chalamet, we welcome ballet here in Wichita.

Second Light

Second Light, the Wichita Homeless Shelter and Service Center, is reducing the number of beds now that winter is over.

They will offer ~100 long-term beds, and 30 beds for night to night stays.

Winter may be over, but that doesn’t mean puzzle season has to end, does it?

Fire Station 15 at Lincoln and Rock Rd is back up and ready to roll (well the mold is better, but there are still repairs need on the roof).

Air Capital Classic

The Air Capital Classic just keeps growing. It’s kind of a tournament, but there is no trophy.

This high school baseball tourny started out with 13 teams, then grew to 27, now it is all the way up to 37 teams from Wichita, KC, and even out of state.

Shout out to the Wichita Sports Commission for helping this event become a true classic.

Elmo’s Got Moves like Jagger

Elmo’s Got the Moves is coming to Century II on April 1 !

My kids are more into Bluey or Paw Patrol, but Elmo still holds a warm place in my heart.

Baggage Car

Wichita Great Plains Transportation Museum would rather recycle.

They are turning the 1953 passenger train baggage car into a meeting space for meetings, birthday parties, tours, and more. This comes after some funding and grants which you can also participate in!
