Good morning, Wichita!
Good news everyone. The American Heart Association says 3–5 cups of coffee a day is generally safe for most adults and may even come with some heart health benefits. Consider this to hit all of your favorite local coffee shops.
Let’s get to it!

WSU vs KU

The AfterShocks just wanted to give everyone a little more summer ball when they let New Mexico force a game 3. Luckily, the WSU team won once again.
This set up one of the best possible matchups in the TBT, AfterShocks (WSU alumni) vs JHX (KU alumni). Although I would have loved to see the AfterShocks knock out Michael Beasley, this is the matchup we all wanted.
Although the 2023 game didn’t go in favor of the Shocks, we will all remember the 2014-2015 game that actually mattered in the tournament…
Anyway, see you all at the Roundhouse tonight for the quarterfinal! This is now single elimination.

Together with Music Theatre Wichita
Some musicals have been entertaining audiences for generations, and Fiddler on the Roof is one of them.
Music Theatre Wichita is bringing the Broadway classic to the stage July 29–August 2 at Century II. Set in a small village in early 1900s Europe, the story follows Tevye, a father trying to balance family traditions with a rapidly changing world. Along the way, you'll hear iconic songs like "Tradition," "If I Were a Rich Man," and "Sunrise, Sunset."
More than 60 years after its Broadway debut, Fiddler on the Roof continues to resonate with audiences through its humor, heart, and timeless themes of family, faith, and finding hope through change.

Tea Fest
A new downtown tradition is brewing! Tea Fest Wichita arrives at Naftzger Park on Saturday 9/12 bringing together tea, herbs, wellness, local artists, interactive experiences, and community connection. Inspired by Planted Tea Shop's popular Spill the Tea gathering, organizers hope to make it an annual Wichita tradition.
Mahjong
Mahjong has been around forever, but is taking Wichita and the country by storm over the last few years.
Now is as good a time as ever to plug our local Wichita friends who have some of the best tiles, mats, and supplies out there - Miss Mahjong.
Wheelchair Basketball
Wichita is a sports town and that extends beyond traditional sports.
Wichita will host the National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Championships at Newman U next year in March.
Wichita Business Journal
Our friends at WBJ do a great job of highlighting businesses and the Wichitans behind them. Let’s see if you recognize any names. Here are a couple recent lists with their all-time lists:
Internet Exchange Point
I know my way around a computer, but this is a bit outside my realm of expertise.
There is a new internet exchange point across from Eck Stadium that is the first internet exchange point in Kansas. What does that mean? Faster and cheaper internet ideally.
St. Jude Dream Home

It is that time of year again. Support St. Jude and purchase your $100 ticket for a chance at winning a home worth $645k. If you get your tickets early, you have chances to win other prizes as well.
Wish Lists
Teachers are unappreciated, so if you see a friend, family, or any other teacher for that matter who has a wish list and you have the means, try to help em out.
Mariachi Camp
If you told me mariachi was taking off in Wichita Public Schools, I would have said that is pretty random, but also pretty cool.
Well that is a fact as that is exactly what happened during summer 2026.
Farmers Markets
We don’t even dare look at lettuce from the store, let alone eat it. That is why tons of shoppers are heading to local farmers markets to avoid the national cyclosporiasis spread across the country.
Global Leadership Summit

The Global Leadership Summit is coming up quick and it is your best chance to be amongst other Wichita leaders to learn from some of the best in the game AND network with the best in Wichita. Get your tickets today.
