🌾 Free Fifty Friday
and don't be trashy!

Good morning, Wichita!
If you haven’t had a chance, please take a quick 60 seconds out of your day to fill out this 100% anonymous reader survey. It gives us a better idea of who our reader audience is and how we can better serve you!
Let’s get to it!

Free Fifty Friday

Wichita Eagle Photo
TGIF!
Have you ever thought…I can’t wait til the weekend, but you know what would make it even better?
Finding $50.
Today (and most Fridays) is your lucky day!
Ron Knackstedt (Hi Ron!) runs Free Fifty Friday through Wichita Famous and also runs Seeker of the Keeper which is a multi-day, citywide scavenger hunt worth up to $1000.

🍽️ Wichita Life Dinner Club 🍽️
Making new friends as an adult can be weirdly tough. We’re making it easier.
That is why we are happy to announce:
Here’s how it works:
🍽️ Take a quick quiz about your personality, interests, and food preferences.
✨ Get matched with five other Wichitans who fit your style (think food preferences, budget, life stage).
📍Your table of six meets for dinner on Tuesday, January 13th at 6:30PM - the exact restaurant is revealed that morning. (we have gotten some feedback, to not just do Tuesdays, so let us know what day works better for future meet-ups)
🥂 After dinner, all groups are invited to a casual after-meetup to keep the conversation going.
If you’ve been wanting to meet new people in town, this might be the easiest (and most fun) way to do it.
Registration closes Sunday evening. Spots are almost full, so I’d sign up today.

Eat Around the World

Wichita has an underrated and extremely diverse food culture. EB put together a guide to eat around the world from India to Africa to Korea and more.
Eberly Farm
Eberly Farm used to have a west-side event venue and it is now transitioning into an Independent Catholic School. You can read the full scoop from the Eagle here. Can’t read the Eagle? Learn how to read it for free here.
Largest Breweries
Can you guess the largest breweries (by barrels produced locally in 2025) in Wichita?
Top 3 are Wichita Brewing Company, Walnut River Brewing Co, and Wyldewood Cellars.
STARTUP
Built for More
Jacob O’Connor is one of those guys that does it all. He runs one of the best brunch spots in town (Another Broken Egg Cafe - if you haven’t tried yet, what are you doing?), he runs 100 mile races, and he runs one of my favorite podcasts that recently rebranded called Built for More (previously called Real Conversations).
Check out a recent episode with Scott Redler, co-founder of Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers (also known as better than In-n-Out or Whataburger).
Roto Toilet Paper Holder
Wichita is the land of innovation.
The first electric guitar ever was played here, Pizza Hut and White Castle started here, and the Roto Toilet Paper Holder was invented here by Zach Mohr and Figura Studio.
Super cool innovation for something you probably haven’t thought needed an update until you see it. Get yours today.

Free Shipping!
(for a limited time)
You asked and we heard you! Free shipping is back for this weekend only!
You can grab our Wichita Life Cityscape Puzzle or any of our other products with free shipping through Sunday evening until the clock strikes midnight and you all turn back into pumpkins.
This puzzle is coffee table-worthy, great for family nights, and a genuinely thoughtful local gift if you still have some gift giving to do.
(There may be a couple bonus hidden gems (font misprints) that make this a rare collector some time in the future, but it is top notch quality nonetheless).
They are back in stock at Love of Character and Clifton Collective soon! Quantities are limited.
To get FREE SHIPPING, just use code WLFreeShipping if it isn’t automatically applied.

CIVIL
Don’t Be Trashy

Our friends over at the City have issued a simple warning message:
Someone dumped a bunch of trash and a big ole mattress in front of the tennis center.
Dumping trash like this technically illegal…
So instead, here are some options:
Mattresses are $20 to dispose at the Wichita landfill
Before you take a mattress to the landfill, cut it in half or they may charge you extra (take this with a grain of salt, it’s from a facebook comment)
Occasional neighborhood cleanup days
