Shocker Madness + Lupe Fiasco

Wichita State’s annual Shocker Madness tips off Saturday, Oct. 4, at 6 p.m. in Charles Koch Arena capped by a live performance from Grammy-winning artist Lupe Fiasco (The Show Goes On, Superstar, Kick Push) - man that takes me back.

The free event also includes team introductions, contests, scrimmages, and Shocktoberfest festivities. Doors open at 5 p.m., first-come seating.

Together with Parade of Homes

The 2025 Fall Parade of Homes is officially live! That means you can start planning your tour today and map out which homes you want to see first.

From modern layouts to timeless designs, the Parade is your chance to explore some of the best new builds in the Wichita area, meet top local builders, and gather inspiration for your own future home.

The City is seeking input from residents through a short survey, open until October 8, 2025. The survey, created by the resident-led Selection Advisory Committee and CPS HR Consulting, will help shape the search for Wichita’s next City Manager.

Shoutout to the Wichita Public Schools for a dope 101,000 brick lego massive mural.

State Fair Attendance

Over 300,000 people went out to Hutch over the 9-day Kansas State Fair, but this is a hair down from last year. Some reasons for the drop could be the heavy rain which caused some parking issues. Did you go?

Recycle & Get Wild Lights Tickets

From Sept. 19–24, recycle small electronics at any Wichita-area Cox store and get a free ticket to Wild Lights at the Sedgwick County Zoo (limit two per household). The e-recycling event wraps up on World Gorilla Day, Sept. 24 and Wild Lights runs Oct. 15–Dec. 21. Details here.

Wine & Dine-osaur in Derby
