Drought Reminders

As we approach flower and new lawn season, quick reminder that Cheney Lake is still over 7.5 feet below normal (~58% full) aka we’re in a drought y’all.

Stage 2 Drought restrictions are still in play which means…

Commercial and wholesale users have the same restrictions as all other water users.
Watering using a private well is exempt, but you need to post signs stating you are using well water.
Residential and commercial food gardens are exempt as well.
Drought Stage 2 Restrictions: All outdoor, non-crucial watering for all water users is restricted to once a week, depending on where a resident lives. Monday - Northwest of Central and Broadway intersection Tuesday - Northeast of Central and Broadway intersection Wednesday - Southwest of Central and Broadway intersection Thursday - Southeast of Central and Broadway intersection Friday, Saturday, Sunday - no outdoor water usage allowed
No other water activities are restricted in Stage 2.

WAMPO is the Wichita Area Metropolitan Planning Organization.

They have a big meeting coming up this Wednesday (3/26) from 4-6pm at the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce to talk about priorities for transporation around Wichita as part of the Metropolitan Transportation Plan 2050.

If you didn’t know (from my grammatical errors that almost never happen), I studied engineering in college and understand the importance of STEM for the next generation.

Spread the word about the FREE Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Engineering Expo coming up on Saturday 4/5 at Century II. This is for grades K-8 and is a great time to get kids interested.
