Performing Arts Center

Century II

One of the biggest pieces of the Century II debate is how unaccommodating and limited the spaceship is for performing arts.

Yes, we have still hosted big shows like Lion King and Hamilton (both absolutely incredible by the way), but it has been well-known for years that the set up just isn’t ideal for plays and musicals.

Angela Cassette from Music Theatre Wichita answered some of the questions about what we need out of a new performing arts center.

Together with Bliss Climbing & Fitness

Bliss Climbing and Fitness summer camps are designed for kids ages 4–14 and combine rock climbing, movement-based challenges, and instructor-led games that focus on teamwork, confidence, and problem solving. Whether your child is brand new to climbing or already loves the gym, each camp is structured to keep kids active, engaged, and supported throughout the day.

Camp offerings include:

  • Mini Summer Camps (ages 4–7) morning sessions

  • Full-day Summer Camps (ages 8–14) running over consecutive days

  • Individualized attention from experienced instructors to help each child grow and succeed

Plus, we’re offering a 15% early bird discount for families who register ahead of time—just use code EARLYSUMMER at checkout.

NONPROFIT

United Way

United Way of the Plains just received $2.2 million in grant funding to help families stay out of homelessness by helping with rent, utilities, and childcare.

Making new friends as an adult can be weirdly tough. So… we’re making it easier.

We’re excited to announce:

Here’s how it works:

🍽️ Take a quick quiz about your personality, interests, and food preferences.

Get matched with five other Wichitans who fit your vibe (food preferences, budget, life stage, etc.).

📍 Your table of six meets for dinner on Thursday, February 5 at 6:30 PM — the exact restaurant is revealed that morning.
(We’ve heard your feedback about not only doing Tuesdays — tell us what days work best for future meetups.)

🥂 After dinner, all groups are invited to a casual after-meetup to keep the conversation going.

If you’ve been wanting to meet new people in town, this might be the easiest (and most fun) way to do it.

Registration closes Tuesday evening. Spots are almost full — I’d grab yours today.
