Coming Together for ICT

Still in disbelief. Our hearts are broken for everyone affected from the crash. Our prayers go out to the whole of Wichita and DC communities.

Wichita is a strong community and is stronger when we come together.

ICT Together is a community-led response to support those affected by this evolving tragedy. Managed by the Wichita Foundation, the fund will provide aid to impacted families and local efforts, adapting to meet the community's changing needs as we heal.

How the fund will be used

Crisis Support - Aid for impacted families
Community Aid - Resources for first responders, local nonprofits, and organizations aiding in community aid efforts
Healing & Resilience - Support for mental health services, grief counseling, and community aid efforts

If your donation exceeds $5,000 email Meghan Doyle or call 316-264-4880
100% of contributions will go toward those affected

There is also a gofundme for the Shaffer family as they tragically lost their wife / mom, Wendy.

ShotSuite Grand Opening

ShotSuite officially opens tomorrow (2/1)!

It is a virtual luxury sports place and seems to be very unique for Wichita.

It is more than just golf, they also have football, soccer, darts, lacrosse, home run derby, etc.

Do I understand how this works at all? No, but I’m excited to try it and find out!

Kelsey Grammer

Wichita Brewing Company and tv star Kelsey Grammer are partners in a beer brand called Faith American Brewing Company.

If you’re a big fan of Cheers or Frasier, you’re in luck because Kelsey is in town this weekend to shake some hands and kiss some…beers:

City of Wichita Budget

The City of Wichita put out a survey to see how residents view quality and importance of all kinds of different aspects of life.

They will use these results to frame up the budget for 2026.

LOCAL

Construction at Riverfront Stadium Equity Bank Park

You may notice construction fencing near our ballpark downtown.

It seems EPC Real Estate Group is getting the ball rolling on construction along the river bank finally.

Construction was supposed to start last fall.

Pediatric Leukemia Treatment

Blinatumomab is a newly approved treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia and is now available in Wichita.

Sedgwick County Zoo

Titan, one of the long-term resident Elephants at SCZ since 2016, is leaving before spring, but don’t worry there are 5 more coming.

5 baby elephants are due later this year.

The Tropics habitat is also officially reopened after closing for a month due to a case of bird flu in Sedgwick County.

Passageways

Passageways is a special organization to help all of the military community.

They are celebrating a ribbon cutting for their new Outreach Center tomorrow (2/1)!

30th Annual Midwest Winefest

Mark your calendars for the 30th Annual Midwest Winefest at the Old Town Walkabout on 5/1 and Reserve Room on 5/3 to support the Guadalupe Clinic non-profit.
