Asian Night Market

One of the biggest events of the year is tomorrow(5/16)! It is the 5th Annual Asian Night Market.
I recommend getting your tickets ahead of time, but even if you don’t, it is your chance to experience vibrant flavors, sights, and sounds of Asia!

Nifty Nuthouse
If Nifty Nuthouse wasn’t changing or expanding, we would be worried, right?
Nifty Nuthouse is looking to grow, but this time it’ll be on the backend side of things, so you may or may not notice.
$1 Billion Investment

“A million dollars isn’t cool. You know what’s cool? A billion dollars.” -said Justin Timberlake playing Sean Parker in The Social Network
Boeing just announced a $1 billion investment into Wichita operations over the next 3 years.
This once again shows why Wichita is the Air Capital of the World.
Rooftop Farm
On top of Fidelity Bank, Rise Farms once operated a micro-farm downtown until the owner retired.
Fast forward to today and WSU Tech’s Culinary School NICHE has opened a new rooftop garden on the top floor of their building at 124 S Broadway (formerly Henry’s Department store).

Beats and Wings

Festive ICT throw some of the best parties and events in the city (ever heard of Taco Fest?).
Next Saturday, they are hosting Beats x Wings at Chicken N Pickle to kick off Memorial Day. It has some of my favorite DJs (DJ Marcobiotics and DJ 4 the Win), a hot wing eating competition, and games hosted by Erick Zayas & Pooh Hefner.
Duck Race
It is your chance to adopt a rubber duck and if you win the race, you win $10k!
Wichita Forever Fest

We have Riverfest (coming up soon and you don’t want to miss it).
We have Somewhere Fest - if you haven’t experienced it, I highly recommend.
There’s a new fest coming to town on August 22nd - Wichita Forever Fest!
100 acts. 10 venues. 1 day.
The Mecca
Did you catch the Wall Street Journal Article where Wichita is the “Rare Mecca of Affordability for America’s New Middle Class”.
Despite Wichita getting good press (or bad, depending who you’re talking to), Wichita actually ranks in the top 15 US cities for rent price increases.
Two Free Fitness Events in Park City
Park City just installed a new outdoor Fitness Court through a partnership with the National Fitness Campaign and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
They’ll officially cut the ribbon at 10am on 5/22 in their new downtown district. F3 Wichita and the new women’s group WIT will both be there. Event details here.
Then on Memorial Day, F3 Wichita is hosting the Murph Challenge at the new Fitness Court with free water, coffee, and fruit for anyone who comes out. RSVP on the Facebook Event.
40 under 40
One of the best things WBJ does it highlight the 40 under 40, so I just wanted to say congrats to all our friends who have been honored to win!
Congrats to Lydia Hampton at Learning Lab Wichita, Ti’Juana Hardwell and Mamarazzi Communications, Joselyne Loganbill at Wichita Foundation, Courtney Sendall at WSU Tech Foundation, Gavin Smith at Textron Aviation Defense, Cassandra Stevens at WSU Barton School of Business, and Tyler York at Wichita Area Builders Association!
